STATEMENT OF INTENT
Every bar, dancing or public house recreates a micro-society. En Vie infiltrates a bar or a pub to instill a new public order, and to propose novel situations, between art and life. Together with the staff, this dance and slam show proposes an alternative rapport to consumption, to social order, to intoxication, and above all, to alterity, using intimate offers. It all begins like another day at the pub – the waiters, manager and patrons go about minding their own business – until surprising things start happening at the bar, in the room or on the terrasse, sometimes sublime, other times miserable. A heartfelt plea shouted whilst standing on the bar, a slam whispered in a customer’s ear, a utopian radio broadcast, a collective fit of laughter, or a peculiar special on the menu. Everyone is invited to partake in this singular journey where the world of Men can be drunk and perspired. The bar tumbles into a realm of wonders.
En Vie is a unique creation which relies on our inner passions, and brings together two radically opposed worlds: that of the intimate, and that of the individual responsibilities. En Vie is a serious game.
